Self-of-Therapist Group
for EFT Clinicians

Learning and implementing the EFT model is not easy.  We need to be exquisitely attuned to our clients, work experientially with strong emotion, and facilitate bonding.  Simultaneously, as we are responding to our client’s attachment needs and fears, we are monitoring our own internal responses and action tendencies.

These internal responses can include our own unmet attachment needs and fears. When these get triggered, we can lose attunement and exit the emotional process.

  • Self-of-Therapist (SOT) work is all about exploring our inner world, healing personal attachment wounds, and developing self-awareness.  The insights and skills we develop when doing our own SOT work can help us stay attuned and empathetically responsive to our clients, access greater compassion, and feel more grounded to work experientially with emotion in the here-and-now.

This 1-Day SOT group learning experience can help you:

  • Increase understanding about how your own history and attachment style impacts your EFT work.

  • Gain insight about where you get triggered and how to regain emotional balance.

  • Get clarity about your own internal working models through the group experience.

  • Identify your thoughts, feelings, and action tendencies evoked in session.

  • Learn how to honor and work with your protectors that block present process attunement.

  • Hone your ability to work experientially with emotion to improve therapeutic outcomes.

Why group?

Group process allows us to step out of cognitive “top-down learning” and into “bottom-up learning” as we engage fully with our emotions in the here-and-now.  It provides an opportunity to become more comfortable with our own internal responses and get real-time practice working experientially with others’ emotions – which is key to taking EFT skills to a deeper level.

We all get stuck at times - and by doing this exploration as a group, we can feel less alone. It gives us a chance to get curious about our inner world, vulnerably explore our raw spots, and process our experience in a safe holding environment. And most importantly, it allows you to practice reaching and responding, as you get the opportunity to both give and receive the reparative, attuned responses that you provide to your own clients.
